Shio-Mgvime Monastery is a medieval monastic complex located near the town of Mtskheta in Georgia. Founded in the 6th century by the Assyrian monk Shio, the monastery is nestled in a picturesque limestone canyon. The complex includes several churches, the oldest of which is the Monastery of St. John the Baptist, dating back to the 6th century.
