Sierra del Carmen, located in the northeastern part of the state of Coahuila, Mexico, is a stunning mountain range known for its rugged terrain and rich biodiversity. Part of the Chihuahuan Desert, this range forms a natural extension of the Big Bend National Park in Texas, USA. The area is characterized by its limestone peaks, deep canyons, and extensive cave systems. Vegetation ranges from desert scrub at lower elevations to pine-oak forests at higher altitudes. It is also a critical habitat for various wildlife species, including black bears, mountain lions, and a variety of bird species.
