Spiral Jetty is a renowned earthwork sculpture created by artist Robert Smithson in April 1970. Located on the northeastern shore of the Great Salt Lake in Utah, USA, this iconic work consists of a 1,500-foot-long coil of basalt rocks and earth that extends into the lake. The spiral shape of the jetty interacts with the natural landscape, often becoming submerged or exposed depending on the water levels of the lake.
