The Split Archaeological Museum in Split, Croatia, is the oldest museum institution in the country, established in 1820. It houses an extensive collection of artifacts from the prehistoric, Greek, Roman, early Christian, and medieval periods. Highlights include Roman mosaics, sarcophagi, ancient coins, and religious relics. The museum also features an impressive collection of stone inscriptions and sculptures from the nearby ancient city of Salona.
