Stelvio Pass, located in the Italian Alps, is one of the highest and most dramatic mountain passes in Europe, reaching an elevation of 2,757 meters (9,045 feet) above sea level. It is renowned for its breathtaking views and challenging hairpin bends, making it a favorite among driving and cycling enthusiasts. The pass connects the Valtellina region with the province of South Tyrol and forms part of the Eastern Alps. Built in the early 19th century by the Austrian Empire, it is steeped in history and has been a highlight in the Giro d'Italia cycling race.
