Takachiho is a town located in the Miyazaki Prefecture on the island of Kyushu in Japan. It is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and cultural significance. One of the town's most famous attractions is the Takachiho Gorge, a picturesque ravine created by the Gokase River, featuring sheer cliffs and a beautiful waterfall known as Manai Falls. The gorge is often explored by renting rowboats or walking along the scenic trails that offer breathtaking views. Takachiho is also steeped in mythology and is known as the setting for several Japanese creation myths. The town is home to Takachiho Shrine, which is dedicated to the Shinto gods and is a significant cultural site.
