The Temple of the Tooth, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa, is a sacred Buddhist temple located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha, making it one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists around the world. The temple is situated within the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, on the banks of the Kandy Lake. The site is renowned for its architectural beauty and historical significance, and it plays a central role in the annual Esala Perahera festival, which features elaborate parades, traditional dances, and richly decorated elephants.
