Thotlakonda is an ancient Buddhist complex located near Visakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Discovered through aerial surveys in 1976, the site dates back to the 3rd century BCE and features a variety of structures including stupas, viharas (monasteries), and chaityas (prayer halls). Thotlakonda served as a significant center for Buddhist monks and played a crucial role in the spread of Buddhism to Southeast Asia.
