Tiwanaku is an ancient archaeological site located in western Bolivia, near the southern shore of Lake Titicaca. It was once the center of a powerful pre-Columbian civilization that thrived between approximately 300 and 1000 AD. The site is renowned for its impressive stone structures and sophisticated engineering, including the Akapana Pyramid, the Kalasasaya Temple, and the iconic Gateway of the Sun. Tiwanaku is considered one of the most significant Andean civilizations, known for its advanced agricultural techniques, intricate stone carvings, and extensive trade networks.
