Trashigang Dzong, also known as the "Fortress of the Auspicious Hill," is a historic fortress located in the town of Trashigang in eastern Bhutan. This impressive structure was built in 1659 by the third Druk Desi, Chögyal Mingyur Tenpa, to defend against Tibetan invasions. Perched on a steep hill overlooking the confluence of the Drangme Chhu and Gamri Chhu rivers, the dzong offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It serves as the administrative center and monastic school for the Trashigang district. The dzong is a significant cultural and religious site, hosting numerous festivals and rituals, including the annual Trashigang Tshechu, which attracts locals and tourists alike.
