Trongsa Dzong, located in Trongsa, Bhutan, is one of the most historically significant and architecturally impressive fortresses in the country. Perched on a ridge overlooking the Mangde River, the dzong was originally built in 1644 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa, the third Desi of Bhutan. It played a crucial role in the unification of Bhutan, serving as a strategic control point between the eastern and western regions. The dzong features intricate woodwork, beautiful courtyards, and numerous temples, including the main shrine dedicated to the tutelary deity, Palden Lhamo.
