Tsarevets is a medieval stronghold located on a hill in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. It served as the primary fortress and the seat of power for the Second Bulgarian Empire from the 12th to the 14th centuries. The fortress encompasses the Royal Palace, the Patriarchal Cathedral, and numerous residential and administrative buildings, all encircled by thick defensive walls. The site also includes the Baldwin's Tower, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.
