Tsukiji Hongan-ji is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist temple located in the Tsukiji district of Tokyo, Japan. Notable for its unique architectural design, the temple features a blend of traditional Indian and European styles, which is quite uncommon for Buddhist temples in Japan. Originally established in the 17th century, the temple has undergone several reconstructions due to fires and earthquakes, with the current structure completed in 1934 under the guidance of architect Ito Chuta. Besides serving as a place of worship, Tsukiji Hongan-ji is also a cultural hub, hosting various events and activities, and even has a café and concert hall within its premises.
