Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, New Jersey, is a popular destination for families and animal enthusiasts. Established in 1963, the zoo is part of the South Mountain Recreation Complex and is managed by the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs. Home to a diverse collection of animals from around the world, Turtle Back Zoo features exhibits such as the African Adventure, Sea Turtle Recovery, and the Big Cat Country.
