The United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., serves as the home of the United States Congress and the seat of the legislative branch of the U.S. federal government. It's an iconic symbol of American democracy, featuring a distinctive white dome that dominates the skyline. The Capitol building houses the Senate and the House of Representatives and contains historic rooms, such as the Rotunda and the National Statuary Hall.
