The Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt, is an ancient burial ground that served as the final resting place for pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (circa 1550-1070 BCE). Nestled on the west bank of the Nile River, the valley is renowned for its elaborately decorated tombs, including the famously intact tomb of Tutankhamun, discovered by Howard Carter in 1922.
