Visby is a charming medieval town located on the island of Gotland in Sweden. Known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, Visby is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is encircled by a 13th-century defensive wall complete with towers and gates, offering a glimpse into its storied past. Visby's narrow, cobblestone streets are lined with colorful, historic buildings, many of which date back to the Hanseatic League period when the town was an important trading hub. The annual Medieval Week, held every August, attracts visitors who come to experience historical reenactments, markets, and performances.
