Visby City Wall in Visby, Sweden, is a well-preserved medieval defensive wall that encircles the old town of Visby on the island of Gotland. Constructed mainly between the 13th and 14th centuries, the wall stretches approximately 3.4 kilometers and originally featured around 50 towers, of which 27 still stand today. The wall's primary purpose was to protect the prosperous Hanseatic town from invaders and pirates. It is one of the best-preserved city walls in Europe and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it a significant historical and architectural landmark.
