Vittoriale degli italiani in Gardone Riviera, Italy, is a sprawling hillside estate that served as the residence of Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio from 1921 until his death in 1938. The estate is a complex of buildings, streets, squares, an open-air theatre, gardens, and waterways, reflecting D'Annunzio's eclectic and eccentric tastes. Among its notable features are the Prioria, D'Annunzio's home filled with his personal belongings and elaborate decor, and the Nave Puglia, a ship embedded into the hillside as a tribute to Italy's naval prowess. The estate also houses the Mausoleum, where D'Annunzio is buried, and various museums showcasing his life and works.
