Wat Mahathat in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand, is one of the most historically significant and visually striking temples in the ancient city of Ayutthaya. Established in the 14th century, it served as a major religious center and was the residence of the Supreme Patriarch of the Thai Buddhist monks.
