William B. Bankhead National Forest, located in northwestern Alabama, is one of the four national forests in the state. It spans approximately 181,230 acres and is known for its diverse ecosystems, including dense hardwood forests, cascading waterfalls, and picturesque canyons. The forest offers a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and horseback riding. One of its most notable features is the Sipsey Wilderness, often referred to as the "Land of a Thousand Waterfalls," which provides a pristine setting for backcountry adventures.
