Winchester Castle, located in the historic city of Winchester in Hampshire, United Kingdom, is a medieval fortress with a rich history dating back to the 11th century. Originally built by William the Conqueror in 1067, the castle played a significant role during the Norman conquest of England. One of its most notable features is the Great Hall, constructed between 1222 and 1235, which is one of the finest surviving examples of 13th-century hall architecture. The Great Hall houses the iconic Round Table, which has been associated with the legendary King Arthur. Over the centuries, the castle has been a royal residence, a court, and a prison.
