Wismar is a charming port town located in the northern part of Germany, on the Baltic Sea coast. It is part of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, Wismar boasts a historic old town that has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002, along with the nearby town of Stralsund.
