About

Wolf Cave in Kristinestad, Finland, is an important archaeological site believed to be one of the northernmost locations with evidence of Neanderthal habitation. Discovered in 1996, the cave has yielded numerous stone tools and artifacts dating back over 120,000 years. These findings suggest that Neanderthals may have used the cave as a temporary shelter during their migrations.
