Xochimilco, located in the southern part of Mexico City, is renowned for its extensive network of canals, which are remnants of the ancient Lake Xochimilco. This area is famous for its colorful trajineras, which are traditional flat-bottomed boats that tourists and locals alike use to navigate the waterways.
