Yeongdo Bridge in Busan, South Korea, is a historic bascule bridge that connects the Jung District to Yeongdo District. Originally constructed in 1934, it was the first bridge in Korea capable of lifting to allow ships to pass underneath. The bridge has undergone several renovations, with the most recent restoration completed in 2013, reviving its lifting mechanism which had been inactive for decades. Today, Yeongdo Bridge is not only a functional piece of infrastructure but also a significant cultural landmark, symbolizing the resilience and modernization of Busan.
