Zakouma National Park is a protected area in the southeastern region of Chad, renowned for its rich biodiversity and conservation success. Established in 1963, the park covers approximately 3,000 square kilometers and is managed by African Parks, a non-profit organization. Zakouma is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and over 380 bird species. The park's successful anti-poaching measures have led to a significant recovery of its elephant population, making it a notable example of effective wildlife management in Africa.
