Zoo Miami, also known as The Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens, is the largest and oldest zoological garden in Florida. It spans over 750 acres and is home to more than 3,000 animals representing over 500 species. Notably, it is the only subtropical zoo in the continental United States, allowing it to house a variety of animals from Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas in environments that closely mimic their natural habitats.
