Zvartnots Cathedral, located in Vagharshapat, Armenia, is a stunning example of early medieval Armenian architecture. Constructed in the 7th century under the patronage of Catholicos Nerses III, also known as Nerses the Builder, the cathedral was once one of the most impressive and majestic structures of its time. The name "Zvartnots" translates to "celestial angels," reflecting the cathedral's ethereal beauty and divine inspiration. Despite being partially ruined by an earthquake in the 10th century, the remnants of Zvartnots still showcase intricate stone carvings, grand columns, and an innovative circular layout that influenced Armenian ecclesiastical architecture for centuries.
