Zvíkov Castle, located in Zvíkovské Podhradí, Czech Republic, is a historic Gothic castle perched on a rocky promontory where the Vltava and Otava rivers converge. Built in the early 13th century, it is considered one of the most significant medieval castles in the country. The castle features impressive architectural elements such as the Royal Palace, a fortified tower known as Markomanka, and beautifully preserved frescoes. It has a rich history, having served as a royal residence, a strategic military fortress, and later, a cultural monument.
