Fort Bard is a historic fortress located in the town of Bard in the Aosta Valley region of Italy. Perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the Dora Baltea River, the fort has strategic importance and a commanding view of the surrounding valley. Dating back to the early 19th century, Fort Bard was extensively rebuilt by the House of Savoy to serve as a defensive stronghold. Today, it houses the Museum of the Alps, which offers exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the Alpine region, as well as hosting various art exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.
