Wood Buffalo National Park, located in Fort Smith, Canada, is one of the largest national parks in the world. Covering an area of approximately 44,807 square kilometers, it spans across northeastern Alberta and southern Northwest Territories. The park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, including vast boreal forests, expansive wetlands, and the iconic Peace-Athabasca Delta, one of the world's largest freshwater deltas. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site, notable for being a critical habitat for the threatened wood bison and the only remaining natural nesting area for the endangered whooping crane.
