Karlštejn is a large Gothic castle located in the Czech Republic, about 30 kilometers southwest of Prague. It was founded in 1348 by King Charles IV to house the imperial crown jewels and other treasures. The castle is known for its impressive architecture and well-preserved interiors, including the Chapel of the Holy Cross and the Great Tower.
