London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, is a notable piece of history that originally spanned the River Thames in London, England. Constructed in the 1830s, it served the city of London until the 1960s. When structural concerns and the need for a modern bridge arose, the bridge was dismantled and sold to Robert P. McCulloch, an American entrepreneur, in 1968. McCulloch had the bridge meticulously transported and reassembled in Lake Havasu City, a planned community he was developing.
