Kizhi Pogost is a historical site located on Kizhi Island in Lake Onega, part of the Republic of Karelia, Russia. It is renowned for its remarkable collection of wooden structures, the most famous of which are the Church of the Transfiguration and the Church of the Intercession, both built in the 18th century. The Church of the Transfiguration, also known as the "Summer Church," is particularly notable for its 22 domes and intricate wooden architecture, constructed entirely without the use of nails. The Church of the Intercession, or "Winter Church," features nine domes and was used during the colder months.
