Best time to visit Pokhara:
Autumn (September to November):
- This is the peak tourist season and considered the best time to visit Nepal. The weather is clear and cool, with stunning mountain views.
- Autumn is ideal for trekking, mountaineering, and outdoor activities. The popular Everest Base Camp trek, Annapurna Circuit, and Langtang trek are most enjoyable during this season.
Spring (March to May):
- Spring is another excellent time to visit Nepal. The weather is mild, and the blooming rhododendrons add color to the landscapes.
- Spring is suitable for trekking, wildlife watching, and exploring cultural sites. The rhino and tiger populations in Chitwan National Park are more active during this time.
Winter (December to February):
- While the winter months are colder, some regions like the Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, and Lumbini offer pleasant weather for cultural exploration.
- Lower-altitude treks, such as the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, can still be done during winter, and you'll encounter fewer crowds.
Monsoon (June to August):
- Monsoon season in Nepal brings heavy rainfall, especially in the lowlands and hilly regions. Trekking in most areas is not advisable during this time due to slippery trails and leeches.
- However, Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo are in rain shadow areas and can be explored during the monsoon. They offer a unique, less crowded experience.
